We did it!

Eric, Paige, Ted, and I all finished the Akron marathon on Saturday in under 6 hours (the cutoff time) - and one of us (ahem "maybe I'll join you" Ted) finished well under that mark. Four days later we are still hobbling around but no longer needing ice packs strapped to us.
We have been in Ohio for almost one month now and here is the quick run-down:
Closed on our house and lived in it empty for a week until our stuff arrived.
Lost a tree, part of the roof and fence, and power for 4 days due to hurricane Ike.
Ate ox for the local high school football team.
Had visits from Mom and Dad (Myers) and McArthurs.
Ran a marathon!

Wow we have been busy - luckily Paige has been with us to help out. I'm sad that she leaves today.
We love our home and neighborhood and have great neighbors. I'll start posting more now that Eric officially has started work at the University and the home computer is free.

Hello Ms. Skinny Minny. You look great. Good job. I contemplate running a marathon, but I think I will do a 1/2 in the spring and see if I can even handle that. You are amazing woman. You set your mind to something, and you do it!

You guys are SO ambitious! I should be taking notes. I'm glad you're getting settled and that you're okay despite the hurricane. Welcome to your new home, eh? I'm surprised Cadie isn't walking yet - I thought for sure she'd beat Charlie. Is she signing a lot more? We're still working on that...

I want to run a marathon so bad but I have always been too scared to do it. I just need to sign up and go for it. My sister ran the Portland Marathon in 3 and a half hours. I think that intimidates me a bit:)
